Carlos Benny, founder of Blackout Group and owner of Koyak Gloves, who recently settled down here after traveling the world for 20 years for tattooing and traveling. He is also the
founder of the Sabah International Tattoo Convention (SITC) and the organizer of Malaysia Tattoo Expo 2019 said it is an honor to be chosen to represent Sabah and contribute this
unique design for a good cause. "I feel really blessed being chosen to represent Sabah for this project. It is not just having my name mentioned for the design on the bear, apart
from showcasing great designs and skills, my aim is to preserve Sabah’s heritage as it represents heritage and culture."
He chose the motive of Mount Kinabalu, coffee plant, coffee cherry and Starbucks Siren’s motive as his reference. Finished with Starbucks flag colors on the nose to affirm the
Sabahan flag colors. A silhouette of Mount Kinabalu represents the state of Sabah. Zircon blue represents peace and calmness. Icicle blue represents unity and prosperity. Royal
blue represents strength and harmony. For this project I use acrylic color and to be frank its my first time using acrylic, The whole design is like a flow as I believe a great
design emphasize a lot on flow, the way the design looks on the bear if you look at it is a positive flow.
